Habit & Growth rate: In the urban environment Callistemon salignus provides a good source of nectar for birds, food and habitat for the life cycle of butterflies.

Callistemon salignus is adaptable to most sites and will tolerate moist swampy soils- poorly drained that may dry out in summer.

Foliage: This large shrub or small tree that develops into an excellent weeping canopy over time has papery, peeling bark; foliage is willow like, bright green with purplish pink new growth. Flowers late spring to summer mostly 4-5cm long creamy white to yellow.
