Turkey Oak

Height: 10-15m


Habit and Growth Rate: Slow to moderate growth rate and develops into a rounded, moderately dense, symmetrical spreading tree.

 

Foliage: Green leaves that turn yellow to gold in the autumn. Leaves alternate, simple, lobed, oblong.

Comments: This long lived and extremely hardy oak can reach 30 m at maturity. The Turkey Oak is successful on a wide range of site soils from s lightly alkaline to acidic and shown to withstand periods of drought and occasionally wet soils but not poorly drained for long periods

 All plant dimensions are estimates only and ultimate size and growth rates will depend on growing conditions, particularly when used in some urban environments. All estimates are based around a 20-year time frame. With maturity most species will grow larger.
