Eucalyptus occidentalis

 

Swamp Yate/Flat Top Yate

Height: Across it natural distribution E. occidentalis may be a tree up to 25m tall or a large malle depending on severity of the site. Away from its natural habitat heights of 12-20m are more the norm.

Comments: This species has wide distribution across the southern part of Western Australia. It occurs in the area of Rock Gully  Arthur River and extends east to Isrwelite Bay and Mt Ragged. This species can grown on water logged sites, areas affected by salinity, and has been successfully grown in dry land parts of southern Australia and can tolerate periods of drought. Will withstand coastal conditions and further inland frosts down to -5 degrees. In the urban environment would be good as a amenity tree in larger parks and open spaces.
